From years of experience in mass tort and industry-wide litigation the firm has become a leader and proponent of joint defense strategies and multiple representation with associated fee sharing in litigation where arrangements can be efficiently and ethically utilized. HCFF has been appointed to serve as a representative of the Joint Neutral Defense Initiative, one of only two such firms approved in the State of Michigan . The firm also chairs the Michigan Medical Counsel Program, which has represented more than 40 defendants asbestos-related personal injury litigation on an “equal shares” fee sharing arrangement for the past 22 years.

HCFF has been in the forefront of litigation arising from the ongoing “mortgage crisis". The firm has represented real estate appraisers and title abstractors in a number of cases filed by lenders and other parties to real estate transactions throughout the state.
